Occasionally these sushi dinners are served on human “plates”: this type of dinner is called nyotaimori or “body sushi” like the demonstration we referred to in the first part of the article in Vialia. But it is important to note that these events are purely aesthetic and gastronomic, not bachelor parties or free-for-alls. It is essential to respect the models and it is strictly prohibited to touch them inappropriately, whether they are male or female… The “plates” that houses the sushi are both female and male, and Benjamin de la Mata himself often points out that women having dinner tend to be more uninhibited than the men.

There are not many places in Spain where you can enjoy nyotaimori (body sushi) with prepared by good cooks, but there are a few: Scorpion’s Nest in Barcelona, Toulouse Sushing Club in Malaga and little else.
